The Adah, Edenborn, Footedale, McClellandtown and Ronco Fire Departments
organized and existing in the Township of German are hereby designated as
the officially recognized fire companies for the Township.
By January 31 of each year, the said fire companies shall provide a
written report to the Board of Supervisors of German Township identifying
and itemizing all costs and expenses for which collection was sought and identifying
all monies actually collected as the result of collection efforts undertaken
by the said fire companies during the preceding calendar year.
In addition to actually participating in the activities of the fire
companies as authorized above, or in going to or returning from any activity,
the members of the fire companies recognized by the Township are also authorized
to do the following:
A. Engage in any type of drill, training, ceremony, practice,
test or parade when duly called for or authorized by an officer or officers
of the fire companies.
B. Engage in fund-raising activities for the fire companies,
when authorized by an officer or officers of the fire companies.
C. Engage in the performance of any other duty or activity
authorized by any officer of the fire companies.
The purpose of this article is to recognize Adah, Edenborn, Footedale,
McClellandtown and Ronco Fire Departments as the official fire companies of
the Township of German and to state additional authorized activities for fire
fighters for purposes of the Workers' Compensation Act.

The Board of Supervisors shall annually certify to the Auditor General
of the commonwealth the names of the active associations and the percentage
of service they contribute to the protection of the Township. Such certification
shall be on forms prescribed by the Auditor General.
There is annually appropriated from the Township Treasury all such sums
of money that may hereafter be paid into the Township Treasury by the Treasurer
of the State of Pennsylvania on account of taxes paid on premiums of foreign
fire insurance companies pursuant to the Foreign Fire Insurance Tax Distribution
Law, the Act of December 18, 1984, P.L. 1005, No. 205, 53 P.L., § 895.701
et seq., as hereafter amended, supplemented, modified or reenacted by the
General Assembly of Pennsylvania. Such monies received by the Township Treasurer
from the State Treasurer shall be distributed to the duly recognized associations
within 60 days of receipt. The funds shall be distributed on the basis of
the percentage of service established in the certification to the Auditor
General and with other provisions of the Act.
