Every person convicted of a violation of the
provisions of this article shall be punished by a fine of not more
than $100 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or by both
such fine and imprisonment; for a second such conviction within 18
months thereafter such person shall be punished by a fine of not more
than $200 or by imprisonment for not more than 45 days, or by both
such fine and imprisonment; and upon a third or subsequent conviction
within 18 months after the first conviction, such person shall be
punished by a fine of not more than $300 or by imprisonment for not
more than 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
For purposes of the interpretation of this article,
the following words shall be given the following meaning:
COMMERCIAL PROPERTY AREA
An area, district or zone in which the use of buildings or
premises therein for commercial purpose is permitted, or an area,
district or zone where nonconforming commercial properties exist.

FIRE LANE
A public or private street, roadway, driveway, parking area or place designated as a fire lane pursuant to the provisions of §
110-17 of this article.
MULTIPLE-FAMILY DWELLING AREA
An area, district or zone in which the use of buildings or
premises therein for the purpose of a multiple-family dwelling is
permitted, or an area, district or zone where nonconforming multiple-family
dwellings exist.
RESTRICTED FIRE ZONE
A fire lane marked with standard police signs and/or markings
indicating that the parking of motor vehicles or other vehicles is
prohibited within said fire lane.
For the purpose of preserving the integrity
of said fire lanes designated pursuant to the provisions of this article,
the following regulations are applicable to said fire lanes within
the Village of Skaneateles:
A. Buildings and structures prohibited. No building or
structure shall be erected within said fire lane, and no building
or structure adjacent to said fire lane shall be added to in such
a manner as to obstruct the free passage of fire-fighting equipment
or other emergency vehicles along the fire lane.
B. Parking prohibited. Parking of motor vehicles or other
vehicles in the restricted fire zone is hereby prohibited. Notwithstanding
and not in limitation of any other provision hereof, no motor vehicle
shall be parked within 20 feet of any fire hydrant or standpipe located
at, on or near said private street, roadway, driveway, parking area
or place within said multiple-family dwelling and commercial property
area.
C. Other obstructions prohibited. No containers, receptacles
or other materials shall be cast, thrown or stored within said fire
lane or area designated as the fire lane.
Anything contained in local laws, ordinances,
rules and regulations of the Village of Skaneateles or any other applicable
law to the contrary notwithstanding, any motor vehicle or other vehicle
parked, abandoned or found unattended in said restricted fire zone
in violation of the provisions of this article shall be towed away
upon the order of the Police Department and stored until the redemption
of said motor vehicle or other vehicle by its owner or operator. The
owner or operator of such motor vehicle or other vehicle may redeem
such vehicle upon the payment of the expenses of such removal and
storage.
