The purpose of this chapter is to enact a local law adopting Article
19-A of the General Municipal Law facilitating the formation of business improvement
districts.
General Municipal Law § 980-b authorizes a town to adopt a
local law which provides that Article 19-A of the General Municipal Law shall
be applicable to the establishment or extension of business improvement districts
in the town.
The adoption of this chapter shall be subject to permissive referendum
as provided by General Municipal Law § 980-b.
