[Amended 3-28-1988]
A violation of this chapter shall be an offense punishable by a fine
not to exceed one hundred dollars ($100.) or by imprisonment for a period
not to exceed ten (10) days, or both. Each week's continued violation
shall constitute a separate additional violation. In addition, the Town Board
shall have such other remedies as are provided by law to enforce the provisions
of this chapter.
In their interpretation and application, the provisions of this chapter
shall be held to be minimum requirements adopted for the promotion of the
public health, morals, safety and general welfare. Wherever the requirements
of this chapter are at variance with the requirements of any other lawfully
adopted rules, regulations, statutes or ordinances, the most restrictive thereof,
or those imposing the higher standards, shall govern.
Upon repeated violations by the same permittee, his right to the issuance
of a permit or to continued operation under a permit may be suspended for
a fixed term, or permanently revoked, after notice and hearing by the DeWitt
Town Board.
The Town Board may from time to time, on its motion, on petition or
on recommendation of the Planning Commission, amend, supplement, change, modify
or repeal this chapter in accordance with the applicable provisions of law.
