The Mayor and Council of the Borough of Closter, New
Jersey, deem it necessary to the public interest, health, comfort,
convenience, protection of property values and preservation of the
public peace, safety, morals, order and the general welfare of the
Borough of Closter to regulate and restrict the height, number of
stories and size of buildings and other structures, the proportion
of lot that may be occupied, the size of yards, courts or other open
spaces, the density of the population and the location and use and
extent of the use of buildings and structures for trade, industry,
residence or other purposes and to divide the Borough into such districts
as are deemed necessary to carry out the purpose of this chapter.
