The Board of Supervisors of Falls Township, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,
hereby creates an Arts and Culture Commission, whose members shall be six
in number, over the age of 18 years and residents of Falls Township, Pennsylvania,
each of whom shall serve at the pleasure of the Board of Supervisors, for
terms of three years.
The effective date of the initial terms shall begin on January 1, 1972.
Two members shall be appointed for a three-year term, two members
for a two-year term and two members for a one-year term. After the first year,
appointments shall be for a three-year term. The appointments of such members
shall be directed by majority action of the Board of Supervisors.
Said Commission shall elect annually a Chairman and promulgate such
bylaws, procedures, programs, activities, guidance and encouragement as will
carry out the spirit of this chapter; provided, however, that the Commission
shall have no enforcement powers, shall act as a representative of the Board
of Supervisors and shall be subject to direction from time to time by the
Board of Supervisors, and provided further that no member of said Commission
shall receive any pecuniary gain for services rendered as a member of said
Commission.
