A. Words and phrases used in this section shall have
the same meanings ascribed to them in Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes, the Vehicle Code, except if a definition is
provided in this section.
B. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall
have the meanings indicated:
FRONT PORTION OF ANY PRIVATE PROPERTY
Nonmovable property that borders the highway and runs parallel
to the structure. This property excludes any property behind the first
portion of the structure that faces the highway for which the structure
is addressed by Falls Township.
LEGAL HOLIDAYS
As used in this chapter, shall mean and include New Year's
Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and
Christmas Day, or days celebrated as such.
LEGALLY POSTED HANDICAPPED ZONE
Signs shall be blue and white in color and display the universal
symbol for handicapped. Signs must be erected in front of each individual
parking area of a traffic way, and the prohibited parking zone must
display blue paint to distinguish the area from nonhandicapped parking.
OVERNIGHT
From sunset to sunrise on any given day of the year.
PAVED
A portion of private property that is covered by asphalt,
concrete, stone, brick or block and designed to safely support the
weight of the vehicle that is parked.
PRIVATE PROPERTY OF ANOTHER
Nonmovable property that is legally owned or under the control
of any person within boundaries of Falls Township. "Private property
of another" shall exclude commercial property, hospitals, shopping
centers, hotels, motels and places of worship.
PUBLICLY OWNED AREA
Any nonmovable property that is legally owned by the Township
of Falls, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a government agency or
municipal agency.
C. In this chapter, the singular shall include the plural,
the plural shall include the singular, and the masculine shall include
the feminine and neuter.
All traffic and parking regulations of a permanent
nature shall be enacted as ordinances or parts of ordinances or as
amendments to ordinances of the Township of Falls.
