Commencing July 1, 1974, the Building Official of the Town of Ellington shall receive an annual salary as may be provided from time to time at the Annual Budget Meeting of the Town, and thereafter he shall not be entitled to retain any portion of any fees collected by him in the performance of his official duties.

Pursuant to Public Act 94-230 (C.G.S. §§ 9-183a to 9-184 and 9-186), there shall be 60 Justices of the Peace for the Town of Ellington, each of whom shall be an elector of the Town.
Pursuant to § 9-183c of the Connecticut General Statutes, the political parties having the largest and second largest total number of enrolled party members in the state, as determined by the latest enrollment records in the office of the Secretary of State, shall each be entitled to nominate 1/3 of the total number of Justices of the Peace. One-third of the Justice positions shall be reserved for members of minor parties and unaffiliated voters.
