As used in this chapter, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
GARAGE SALE
Includes the sale of used household items from a private
residence in a residential zone.

No person shall conduct a garage sale without
first registering at least 24 hours in advance with the Director of
Public Safety of the Township of Burlington as provided in this chapter.

Each applicant for a garage sale shall give
to the Director of Public Safety, in writing, his name, address and
other data as is required to identify himself. He shall also give
the proposed approximate hours and dates of the garage sale.

Each registrant, upon being so registered, shall
be issued a permit by the Director of Public Safety, upon which shall
be affixed the dates, hours and location of the proposed garage sale.
Said permit shall be prominently posted on the premises of which the
garage sale is to be conducted.

Any person or persons, firm or corporation violating this chapter or any section thereof shall be subject to the maximum penalty in Chapter
1, Article
II, Definitions; General Penalty, and each day a violation continues shall be deemed a separate offense.
