The owner or tenant of lands lying within the limits of this Township shall keep all brush, hedges and other plant life growing within 10 feet of any roadway and within 25 feet of the intersection of two roadways cut to a height of not more than 2 1/2 feet where it shall be necessary and expedient for the preservation of the public safety.
All brush, hedges or other plant life growing in violation of § 28-1 shall be cut so that it complies with such requirements within 10 days after notice to cut the same has been given to such owner or tenant by the Township. Such notice may be oral or in writing either by a road supervisor or by the Director of Public Safety.
Where the owner or tenant aforesaid shall have refused or neglected to cut such vegetation in the manner and within the time hereinbefore provided, the Township may cause such vegetation to be cut and charge the cost of such remedial action against the owner and occupant, in accordance with the provisions and procedures set forth in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article II, of this Code.
Violations of the provisions of this article shall be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article I.

In the event of any violation of § 28-5 above, the owner or tenant shall correct same within 10 days after notice to cut the same from the Director of Public Safety. Such notice to the owner or tenant may be oral or in writing, either by a road supervisor or by the Director of Public Safety.
Where the owner or tenant aforesaid shall have refused or neglected to cut the same in the manner and within the time hereinbefore provided, the Director of Public Safety or the road supervisor shall certify to the Township Council the cost of cutting of the brush, hedge or other plant life, and, if found correct, the Township Council shall order such brush, hedge or other plant life cut, and shall cause the cost as shown thereon to be charged against such lands, or, in the event such cost is excessive, to cause the reasonable cost thereof to be charged against such lands. The amount so charged shall forthwith become a lien upon such lands and shall be added to and become and form a part of the taxes next to be assessed and levied upon such lands, the same to bear interest at the same rate as other taxes, and shall be collected and enforced by the same officers and in the same manner as taxes.
Violations of the provisions of this article shall be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article I.
