The Council shall exercise the legislative power of the Township,
except as may be otherwise provided by general law. It may require
any Township officer, by majority vote, in its discretion, to prepare
and submit sworn statements regarding his/her official duties and
the performance thereof, and otherwise investigate the conduct of
any department, office or agency of the Township. It may remove any
Township officer, other than the Mayor or member of the Council, for
cause, upon notice and opportunity to be heard.
The compensation of each member of the Council shall be $9,000
per annum, to be paid as all other salaries are paid.
The President of the Council, by reason of his/her additional
duties, shall receive an additional $1,000 annually, to be paid as
all other salaries are paid.
Vacancies in any elective office of the Township shall be filled
in accordance with State statutes.
