The owner or tenant of lands abutting or bordering on the sidewalks
of a public street in the Township shall remove or cause to be removed
snow and ice from the sidewalk area in front of or bordering his/her
lands within 48 hours after the snow shall fall or the ice be formed
thereon. Said snow and ice shall be so removed that an unobstructed
portion of the sidewalk area is open to a width of at least 36 inches.

The owner or tenant of lands that abut a Sidewalk Area of a public street shall keep the Sidewalk Area clear of vegetation that may cause obstructions to pedestrian foot-traffic. Existing vegetation may remain within Sidewalk Area where no sidewalk exists, so long as, the vegetation is at a height not less than 8 feet as measured from the surface of the Sidewalk Area. The owner or tenant shall clear such vegetation within three days after notice has been received or be subject to the penalty provisions contained in §
180-25.
In the removal of snow or ice, vegetation, brush or tree growth,
no person shall place, deposit or throw the same, or cause the placing,
depositing or throwing of the same, into or upon the roadway between
the curblines of a public street.

If the work is done by the Township, the Township Engineer or
the Director of Public Works shall certify the cost and the Legal
Department shall have a lien placed on the property.

The owner or tenant of lands abutting or bordering on the sidewalks of a public street in the Township who fails to clear said sidewalk of snow and/or ice in accordance with this section or who purposefully deposits snow upon the roadway in violation of §
180-22 shall be subject to a fine of $100 for each violation.
