As used in this chapter, the following words, terms and phrases shall
have the meanings herein ascribed to them:
JOURNEYMAN
A person having four years' experience, doing any work of installing
wires, conduits, apparatus or fixtures for carrying or using electricity for
light, heat or power purposes for hire.
MASTER ELECTRICIAN
A person having a regular place of business and who, by the employment
of journeymen, performs the work of installing wires, conduits, apparatus,
fixtures and other appliances for carrying or using electricity for light,
heat or power purposes who, being an electrician himself, may perform such
work.
The Building Inspector of the Village is hereby charged with the administration
of this chapter.
There is hereby created the position of Electrical Inspector for the
Village. Said Electrical Inspector shall be subject to the general direction
and supervision of the Building Inspector.
All electrical work, wiring, fixtures, appliances and apparatus shall
be done, performed and installed in accordance with the New York State Uniform
Fire Prevention and Building Code, the National Electrical Code and the rules
and regulations of the Electrical Examining Board. All electrical work performed
within the Village of Endicott is subject to inspection the Electrical Inspector,
his/her designee or successor.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be
punishable by a fine not exceeding $1,000 for each offense or imprisonment
not exceeding one year, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day that
such violation continues shall be deemed a separate offense.
