A. 
In addition to any other requirement imposed by law or regulation, the owner or operator of every premises in the Village of Thomaston wherein is located any office use shall be required to submit written reports of inspections as provided in this chapter.
B. 
Not more frequently than once annually, the Village Clerk shall notify the owner or operator of each premises in the village wherein an office use is located to submit to the village a written report of inspections certified by such persons, corporations or firms or entities who or which are qualified to make such inspections, certifying that each boiler, oil burner, compactor and device connected therewith, located on such premises, is in good operating condition and in compliance with all applicable safety codes; and that any required fire or other safety equipment on such premises is in good operating condition and in compliance with all applicable safety codes. Such reports shall specifically certify to compliance or lack of compliance with such standards and in what respects such equipment or systems may be defective or deficient to comply with any legal requirement with respect to safety.
Not less frequently than every six (6) months, the owner or operator of each premises in the village (except a premises used only for a single-family residence) wherein an elevator or escalator is located shall file with the Village Clerk a certificate of inspection and testing from an acceptable elevator company or insurance company, certifying that each elevator and escalator at the premises is in proper working order and in compliance with all applicable codes and generally accepted standards, and each elevator cab has within it a mirror or mirrors so placed in the rear of the cab as to make the interior thereof visible to a person prior to entering such elevator cab.
A. 
Failure or refusal to submit one (1) or more reports required by § 158-1 within fourteen (14) days after request therefor shall have been made shall constitute a violation of this chapter, which violation shall be subject to the penalties provided in this Code for such violation.[1]

B. 
Failure or refusal to submit one (1) or more reports required by § 158-2 shall constitute a violation of this chapter, which violation shall be subject to the penalties provided in this Code for such violation.
C. 
Submission of a false or inaccurate report required by this section shall constitute a violation of this chapter, which violation shall be subject to the penalties provided in this Code for such violation.
