This chapter shall be subject to the applicable provisions of the General Statutes.
The discharge of any firearm within 500 feet of any building in the Town is prohibited.
The discharge of any firearm in the Town by a minor, except under the direct supervision of his parent or legal guardian, is prohibited.
The provisions of this chapter relating to firearms shall not apply to any person discharging any firearm on an established target practice range of an organized rifle or gun club or on any indoor range, nor shall they apply to any landowner using firearms when in the act of protecting his property from destructive animals.
It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or offer or expose for sale or to discharge in the Town any air gun, air rifle or similar device in which the expulsive or impelling force is compressed or condensed air or gas. Nothing in this section is to be construed to limit, except as already limited by ordinance or statute, the sale or use of a firearm.
It shall be unlawful for any person to shoot arrows from a bow or by any other means on, into or across public property, any street or way dedicated to public use or accepted as a public highway or any private property except with the permission of the owner.
It shall be unlawful to hunt with bow and arrows except in those areas where hunting is permitted by ordinance.
Nothing contained in §§ 80-6 and 80-7 shall be construed to prevent the use by any person of archery ranges established by the Town upon public property under proper supervision.
