[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Westbury as indicated in article histories. Amendments noted where applicable.]

The Village Clerk, and, in his absence, the Deputy Village Clerk, of the Village of Westbury be and hereby is designated as the records access officer for said village.
The Mayor of the village be and hereby is designated as the records access appeals officer for the village.
The location where records of the Village of Westbury shall be available for public inspection is the Village Hall, 235 Lincoln Place, Westbury, New York.
The rules and regulations set forth in Chapter XXV, Part 1401, Rules of the Committee on Public Access to Records, are hereby adopted and made the rules and regulations of the Village of Westbury with respect to public access to the records of said village.

Records Retention and Disposition Schedule MU-1, issued pursuant to Article 57-A of the Arts and Cultural Affairs Law, and containing legal minimum retention periods for municipal government records, is hereby adopted for use by all municipal officers in disposing of municipal government records listed therein.
In accordance with Article 57-A:
A. 
Only those records will be disposed of that are described in Records Retention and Disposition Schedule MU-1 after they have met the minimum retention period described therein.
B. 
Only those records will be disposed of that do not have sufficient administrative, fiscal, legal or historical value to merit retention beyond established time periods.
