Upon application for any license or permit required by this chapter, the applicant shall pay an application fee, which application fee shall be retained by the village whether or not a license or permit is issued. At the time of issuance of any such license or permit, the applicant shall pay a fee. Any license, unless specified to be for a different time, or unless earlier suspended, revoked or otherwise invalidated or terminated, shall extend until midnight of the termination date. The fees for permits and licenses shall be as set from time to time by resolution of the Board of Trustees.[2]

Where the fee for a license is levied on an annual basis, and where the termination date fixed is less than six months from the date of issuance, the license fee shall be 1/2 the amount specified. This provision shall not apply to application fees, nor in any case where the license fee is $3 per year or less, nor in any case where a license fee is computed by days, weeks or months with a maximum fee per year.
