The City of Royal Oak establishes a Traffic
Committee. The Traffic Committee shall consist of seven regular members
and one alternate member selected by the City Commission from the
public at large. The alternate member shall not vote nor serve except
in the absence of regular members. The Director of Public Safety,
Fire Chief and City Engineer or their designated representatives shall
be ex officio members of the Committee without voting privilege.
Members shall serve without pay or extra compensation.
The powers of the Traffic Engineer as specified
in this article shall be exercised by the City Engineer.
The Traffic Committee is vested with advisory
powers with respect to proposed traffic regulations and traffic safety
issues. It shall be the duty of Traffic Committee to advise the City
Manager and City Commission on amendments to this article.
