A. No person shall commit an assault or an assault and battery upon
the person of another.
B. A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable
by imprisonment for not more than 93 days or a fine of not more than
$500, or both.
An individual who assaults or assaults and batters
his or her spouse or former spouse, an individual with whom he or
she has or has had a dating relationship, an individual with whom
he or she has had a child in common, or a resident or former resident
of his or her household is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment
for not more than 93 days or a fine of not more than $500, or both.
A person commits the offense of harassing communications
if, with intent to harass or alarm another person, he or she communicates
with a person, anonymously or otherwise, by telephone, or by telegraph,
mail or any other form of written or electronic communications, in
a manner likely to harass or cause alarm.
A person commits the offense of harassment if,
with intent to harass, annoy or alarm another person, he or she:
A. Strikes, shoves, kicks or otherwise touches a person
or subjects him or her to physical contact;
B. Follows a person in or about a public place or places;
or
C. Engages in a course of conduct or repeatedly commits
acts that alarm or seriously annoy another person and that serve no
legitimate purpose.
Any person who shall knowingly send or deliver
or shall make, and for the purpose of being delivered or sent, shall
part with the possession of any letter, postal card or writing containing
any obscene language with or without a name subscribed thereto, or
signed with a fictitious name, or with any letter, mark or other designation,
with the intent thereby to cause annoyance to any person, or with
a view or intent to extort or gain any money or property of any description
belonging to another, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
