The purpose of this article is to change the term of office of the Town Supervisor from two to four years, pursuant to the enabling authority of § 10 of the Municipal Home Rule Law.
The term of any office of any Town Supervisor elected after the effective date of this article shall be for four years.
This article shall become effective upon approval by a majority of the qualified electors of the Town of Hamburg voting at the next general election.[1]

The purpose of this article is to transfer the duties, functions and operations of tax collection from the Finance Department to the office of the Town Clerk,
The office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Hamburg shall perform the duties, functions and operations of tax collection.
A Deputy Town Clerk may be directed by the Town Board to perform the duties, and functions of receiver of taxes, and said Deputy Town Clerk shall be appropriately bonded.
