Notwithstanding the provisions of the New York State Town Law, Article 4, § 68, the Town Board of the Town of Harrison may compromise or settle any action, proceeding or claim against the Town of Harrison or Village of Harrison without court approval, where the amount claimed does not exceed $15,000, upon such terms as said Board shall determine are just, reasonable and to the interest of the Town of Harrison and Village of Harrison.
This chapter shall modify in its application to the Town of Harrison and Village of Harrison the provisions of Town Law, Article 4, § 68.
