Pursuant to § 2-C of the New York State Constitution and § 10 of the Municipal Home Rule Law, granting every local government the power to adopt and amend local laws not inconsistent with the provisions of the Constitution or any general law relating to its property, affairs or government, the Town of Kent hereby rescinds § 9, Chapter 610, of the Laws of 1941 (known as the "Putnam County Police Act"), provided that temporary and special policemen be selected from established eligible lists.
Appointments of temporary and special patrolmen shall henceforth be made in accordance with the general laws, the Civil Service Law, Town Law and Public Officers Law.
