As long as the Town of Ossining shall provide medical insurance as a
benefit to its employees, it may make payments in lieu of medical insurance
to an employee who opts not to accept any such medical insurance coverage,
provided the amount of the payment does not exceed the cost to the Town of
providing individual medical insurance coverage to such employee.
Based on a review of payments in lieu of medical insurance made by the
Town of Ossining prior to the effective date of this chapter, it is hereby
found that such payments were made in good faith and did not exceed the cost
to the Town of Ossining of providing medical insurance to the recipient employee
in each instance. Accordingly, all such prior payments are hereby approved
and ratified.
