No person shall operate a motion-picture projector
or apparatus in a motion-picture or other theater within the City
without first obtaining a license from the Council for such operation.

Prior to the issuance of a license, the Division
of Community Improvements shall inspect the premises for compliance
with all zoning, building and fire codes and subcodes.

A. All licenses shall expire on the 31st day of December
of the year in which issued.
B. The initial license fee and the renewal fee shall
be $275 per year for each movie screen.

C. If any person to whom a license has been issued fails
to renew his license for one calendar year, he shall undergo another
examination and, if successful, shall pay the initial fee of $275
per movie screen.

The Council, after hearing, may revoke any license
issued under this article for violations of the state fire protection
subcode, state electrical subcode or any other negligent conduct in
the operation of a projector which is inimical to the public safety.

A. Any person who violates any provision of this article
shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not exceeding
$1,000, by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days or by a period
of community service for not more than 90 days, or any combination
thereof.
B. Any person who shall permit any person not duly licensed
under this article to operate a motion-picture projector or apparatus
in a motion-picture or other theater shall, upon conviction thereof,
be punished by a fine not exceeding $1,000, by imprisonment for a
term not exceeding 90 days or by a period of community service for
not more than 90 days, or any combination thereof.
C. A separate offense shall be deemed committed on each
day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.
