Within one year following the adoption of this
Part 1:
A. Every taxicab shall be equipped with a full partition,
extending from roof to floor and from door to door, to separate the
driver's compartment from the passenger's compartment.
B. The partition shall be a made of a bullet-resistant
material with a minimum thickness of three-eighths (3/8) inch, surrounded
by a 14-gauge steel enclosure.
C. The partition shall contain a change slot to enable
payment of fares without direct contact between the driver and passengers.
D. The back of the front seat shall be equipped with
a 14-gauge steel plate, covered with foam padding, covered with leather,
leatherette or other material ordinarily used to cover the foam padding
of vehicle seats.
E. Opaque tinting, side curtains, shades or other such
obstructions are prohibited in passenger compartment windows.
