shopping center, and those signs shall have the same force and effect
as specified in § 1172(a) of the New York State Vehicle
and Traffic Law. Every driver of a vehicle approaching such a stop
sign shall stop his vehicle at a clearly marked stop line, but, if
none, then shall stop before entering the crosswalk or, in the event
there is no crosswalk, at a point nearest the public highway where
the driver has a view of the approaching traffic, and the right to
proceed shall be subject to the provisions of § 1142 of
the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
