The Corporation Counsel is hereby authorized to purchase title insurance
on any property owned or to be acquired by the City of Rochester or on property
against which the City is foreclosing taxes.
The Corporation Counsel is hereby authorized to accept and record deeds
or other papers establishing or clearing title to lands, required by ordinances
heretofore adopted for street purposes, provided, however, the purchase price
is not in excess of $1 and has heretofore been approved by the Council, notwithstanding
the fact that such lands are not thereby conveyed free and clear of all liens
and encumbrances. In any transfer involving disbursements arising out of the
procuring and recording of said deed and such other papers establishing or
clearing such title, the Corporation Counsel is further authorized to pay
such amounts as may be necessary, not to exceed $40 in each transfer, which
amounts shall be charged to the Municipal Land Purchase Fund.
[Added 9-28-1948]
The Corporation Counsel is hereby authorized, upon receipt in full of
any claim or demand in favor of the City, to execute and deliver on behalf
of the City of Rochester a general release to the person or corporation paying
said claim or demand in full.
[Amended 4-14-1959]
The Corporation Counsel is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of
the City of Rochester receipts for legacies payable under wills or pursuant
to decrees of the Surrogate's Court.
