A. 
Penalties for traffic infractions. Every person convicted of a traffic infraction for a violation of any provision of this chapter, other than Article V through Article XIII, and which is not a violation of any provision of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York shall, for a first conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than $100 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment; for a second such conviction within 18 months thereafter, such person shall be punished by a fine of not more than $200 or by imprisonment for not more than 45 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment; upon a third or subsequent conviction within 18 months after the first conviction, such person shall be punished by a fine of not more than $300 or by imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
B. 
Penalties for parking infractions; violations of Article V through Article XIII.

(1) 
Any person violating the provisions of Article V (Parking Prohibited in Designated Locations), Article VI (Parking Time Limited in Designated Locations), Article VII (Seasonal Parking Restrictions in Designated Locations), Article VIII (Stopping Prohibited in Designated Locations) and Article IX (Miscellaneous Parking) shall be liable to a penalty of up to $75 but not less than $25 for each violation.
(2) 
Any person violating the provisions of Article X (Parking by Permit Only Areas) shall be liable to a penalty of $100 for each violation.
(3) 
Any person violating the provisions of Article XI (Parking on Private Property) shall be liable to a penalty of up to $75 but not less than $25 for each violation.
(4) 
Any person violating the provisions of Article XII (Parking Lots) shall be liable to a penalty up to $100 but not less than $25 for each violation, except for violations of § 312-61B (Fire zones) and § 312-61C (Handicapped parking spaces) which shall be liable to a minimum penalty of $250 for each violation.
(5) 
Any person violating the provisions of § 312-65 (Seasonal tow-away zones) or § 312-66 (Continual tow-away zones) of Article XIII shall be liable to a penalty of $100 for each violation.
C. 
Penalties for other parking, standing, stopping infractions. Any person violating any of the provisions of the Vehicle and Traffic Law or any section of the Vehicle and Traffic Law pertaining to parking restrictions and not specifically included as a violation of Articles X through XII of this chapter shall be liable to a penalty of up to $75 but not less than $25 for any parking, standing, or stopping violation.

Fines listed for the offense committed are payable within 30 days from the date of issue. If the fine is not paid within 60 days of the first scheduled court appearance for the offense, it will be doubled. Fines not paid within 90 days of the first scheduled court appearance will be tripled. The above-referenced time frames may be amended by the Southampton Town Justice Court.
