Pursuant to the provisions of C.G.S. § 7-136,
the Town of Old Saybrook hereby adopts an ordinance establishing an
Economic Development Commission for the promotion and development
of the economic resources of the Town of Old Saybrook.

The Economic Development Commission shall consist
of seven regular members and two alternates to be appointed by the
Board of Selectmen.

Terms of regular members shall be for five years.
Terms shall be staggered so that the terms of approximately 1/5 of
the members expire each year. Any vacancy in the membership of the
Commission shall be filled for the unexpired portion of the term by
the Board of Selectmen. Alternate members of the Commission shall
be appointed by the Board of Selectmen, each for the term of two years.
The initial terms for such alternates shall be from the date of their
appointment and continuing until December 1, 2007. Subsequent two-year
terms for alternates shall commence on that date.
The members of the Commission shall receive
no compensation for their services as such but shall be reimbursed
for their necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their
official duties.
Said Economic Development Commission shall have
all of the rights, powers, duties and obligations set forth in C.G.S.
§ 7-136.
