The Chief of Police shall be responsible for
the installation, operation, maintenance, policing and supervision
of parking meters in the Village.
A. Installation.
(1) Pavement marking shall be applied, where practicable,
outlining parking spaces in the parking meter zones established in
this Article.
(2) Parking meters shall be installed immediately adjacent
to the parking spaces.
(3) No parking spaces shall be applied at, nor meters
installed adjacent to, locations where parking, standing or stopping
is prohibited pursuant to § 1202 of the Vehicle and Traffic
Law or by this or any other law of the Village where parking spaces
are in conflict with such prohibitions.
B. Operation.
(1) Each parking meter shall operate so as to indicate
that the appropriate fee has been deposited in such meter.
(2) Each parking meter shall display a signal indicating
the expiration of the time period associated with the deposit of fees.
The parking of motor vehicles in on-street parking meter zones is hereby prohibited for a longer period of time than that indicated in Schedule XVII (§
90-56) between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on any day except Sundays and holidays.
The fees for use of the parking meter zones
established pursuant to this Article shall be as set from time to
time by resolution of the Board of Trustees. The schedule of fees
shall be kept on file in the office of the Village Clerk.
