Zoning — See Ch. 173.
A Planning Commission is hereby established by Sayre Borough.
Said Planning Commission shall consist of five members, at least three
of whom shall be members who shall not be officers or employees of Sayre Borough.
The term of office of a member of the Planning Commission shall be four
years; provided, however, that the initial terms of said members of the Planning
Commission shall be as follows:
Members of the Planning Commission shall serve without compensation
but, upon authorization of the borough, may be reimbursed for necessary and
reasonable expenses.
The Planning Commission shall have the authority to designate one of
its members as Chairman of the Planning Commission and shall have the right
and privilege of designating such other officers as it deems appropriate and
necessary.
All members of the Planning Commission shall be residents of Sayre Borough.
The Planning Commission shall keep a full record of its business and
shall annually submit a written report to the Sayre Borough Council on or
before March 1 of the year succeeding the activities being reported on.
The Planning Commission shall have the power to:

Maintain and keep on file records of the action of the
Planning Commission, said records and files to be left in the possession of
the Sayre Borough Council.

Make recommendations to Sayre Borough concerning the
adoption or amendment of an Official Map.

Hold public hearings and meetings.
G.
Promote public interest and understanding of a Comprehensive
Plan and planning.
H.
Make recommendations to governmental, civic and private
agencies and individuals as to the effectiveness of the proposals of such
agencies and individuals relating to planning and zoning.
The Planning Commission shall have the right to utilize and employ administrative
and technical services supplied by Sayre Borough to ordain and carry out the
provisions of this chapter.
The Planning Commission may accept and utilize any funds, or personal
or other assistances made available by Bradford County, the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania or the federal government or any other agencies or from private
sources.
