In accordance with § C7-5 of the Town Charter, the Town Council, by this article, establishes the separate position of Director of Parks and Recreation.
The position of Director of Parks and Recreation shall be in the classified service and filled by appointment by the Town Manager.
The Department of Parks and Recreation shall consist of such full-time positions, in addition to the Director, as the Council may from time to time determine by resolution.
Part-time positions within the Department may be filled by the Director of Parks and Recreation, with the approval of the Town Manager, provided that funds are available within the budget to cover salary payments.
