It is made the duty of every person owning or conducting any hotel or motel within the limits of the Town to keep in the place or places a register containing the names of all persons obtaining rooms or lodging therein. Such register shall be at all times kept in such hotel or motel.

Any person or persons owning or conducting any such hotel, motel, rooming house or lodging house who fails or neglects to provide such place so owned or conducted with a public register as mentioned in § 261-1 shall, upon conviction, be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be subject to the general penalty as provided in Chapter 1, Article IV, General Penalty.
