[HISTORY: Adopted by the Town Meeting of
the Town of Branford 4-11-2001. Amendments noted where applicable.]
During the month of June 2001, the Board of
Selectmen shall appoint a committee to be known as the "Branford Green
Committee" to advise the Board of Selectmen regarding the preservation
and maintenance of the flora located on the Town Green. The Branford
Green Committee will submit an annual report to the Town summarizing
its activities for the year.
A.
The Committee shall consist of nine members, all residents
of the Town of Branford.
B.
The Board of Selectmen shall make appointments to
the Committee in the following manner:
(1)
Three members, one from each church on the Town Green;
(2)
One member from the Branford Historical Society;

Two members at large, recommendations to be made by
the Branford Green Committee;
(4)
One member from the Academy on the Green;
(5)
One member from the Branford Garden Club; and
(6)
One member from the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce.

A.
The nine members shall serve for terms of three years;
provided, however, that initially in June 2001, three members shall
be appointed for a term of one year, three members shall be appointed
for a term of two years and three members shall be appointed for a
term of three years. Thereafter, in the month of June of each succeeding
year, three members shall be appointed for a term of three years.
