Signs existing on April 9, 1971, and which did not conform to the provisions
of the Sign Ordinance of March 10, 1971, shall remain nonconforming. No nonconforming
sign shall be altered by increasing the overall dimensions. If damaged to
the extent on 1/2 its fair market value, no nonconforming sign shall be reconstructed,
provided that nothing contained herein shall prevent maintenance, repainting
or posting of such signs.
A nonconforming sign which exists on a property which is sold or otherwise
transferred must be eliminated or changed to conform to this chapter within
90 days of the date of sale or transference.
