A. 
A schedule of fees for building and mechanical permits is hereby prescribed as follows:

Demolition permits (based on estimated cost of demolition)
$20 for the first $1,000 and $10 for each additional $1,000 or any fraction thereof
Sign permits (based on cost of sign)

$30, plus an additional $10 for each $1,000 or any fraction thereof in excess of $2,000
Street opening, sewer connection or curb/driveway or sidewalk permits

B. 
Anyone who engages in any act covered by this section without the proper permits shall be subject to a penalty equivalent to double the normal permit fee plus $50.
A. 
Any person providing service for hire or materials for sale who shall violate a provision of the Connecticut State Building Code or who shall fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof or who shall erect, construct, alter or repair a building or structure in violation of any approved plan or directive of the building official, or of a permit or certificate issued under the provisions of the Connecticut State Building Code, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not more than $500 or by imprisonment not exceeding one year, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each day that a violation continues shall be deemed a separate offense.
B. 
Any person who shall continue any work in or about the building after having been served with a stop order, except such work as he is directed to perform to remove a violation or unsafe conditions, shall be liable to a fine of not less than $25 nor more than $500. Each day that a violation continues shall be deemed a separate offense.
