Prior to, and as a condition precedent to, obtaining
a certificate of occupancy from the Building Inspector of the Town
of Stratford, any individual who commences the construction of a single-family
dwelling, whether for himself or for others, shall install at least
one smoke detector in a location to be approved by the Fire Chief
of the Town of Stratford, or his designated subordinate, the model
of which smoke detector shall have been approved by the Underwriters'
Laboratories, Inc., or other approved agency and the Fire Chief of
the Town of Stratford or his designated subordinate.
