Bingo shall be conducted in accordance with
the regulations set forth in § 479 of the General Municipal Law.
The unauthorized conduct of a bingo game and
any willful violation of any provision of any local law or ordinance
shall constitute and be punishable as a misdemeanor.

As used in this article, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
AUTHORIZED ORGANIZATION
An authorized organization as defined in Subdivision 4 of
§ 186 of the General Municipal Law.
GAMES OF CHANCE
A game of chance as defined in Subdivision 3 of § 186
of the General Municipal Law.
Authorized organizations may, upon the obtainment
of a license from the Clerk of the Town of Canandaigua, conduct games
of chance within the Town of Canandaigua as provided in Article 9-A
of the General Municipal Law and as provided further in this article.
Such games of chance shall be conducted in accordance with the general
state law and with the rules and regulations of the New York State
Racing and Wagering Board and this article.
The conduct of games of chance authorized by
this article and by Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law shall
be subject to the mandatory restrictions contained in § 189
of the General Municipal Law and any other additional restrictions
that the Town of Canandaigua shall from time to time impose.
Games of chance on the first day of the week,
commonly known as "Sunday," may be conducted pursuant to this article
and appropriate statute and regulation.
The chief law enforcement officer, namely the
Ontario County Sheriff, shall exercise control over and supervision
of all games of chance conducted under an appropriately issued license.
Such officer shall have all those powers and duties set forth in Article
9-A of the General Municipal Law. The powers and duties of control,
supervision, suspension of licenses and inspection of premises as
contained in § 194 of the General Municipal Law shall be
exercised by the Ontario County Sheriff's Department.
This article shall take effect immediately upon
filing with the Secretary of State's office, following its approval
at referendum by a majority of qualified voters voting thereon at
a special election held pursuant to the provisions of § 24
of the Municipal Home Rule Law.
