As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
PRIVATE DANCE
Any dance that is incidental to or which may be permitted
on the premises usually and commonly devoted to some other type of
lawful business, trade, occupation or other lawful endeavor or to
which the general public is excluded or dances for which no charge
is made or for which tickets are not sold or in which no solicitation
of the public is made.
From and after the effective date of the chapter, the closing
hour of all private dances held in hotels, restaurants, roadhouses,
private clubs or the lodge rooms of any fraternal organization or
any other such type of similar institution in the Township of Shaler
shall be 2:00 a.m. from Monday to Friday of each week, and the closing
hour for any such type of dance held in such type of places as enumerated
on Saturdays shall be 2:00 a.m. the following day or Sunday.
No such private dance may be conducted in said Township until
a permit for conducting or holding such dance or dances shall have
been first obtained and issued by said Township for conducting the
same. Said permits may be issued for each such dance or for longer
periods not exceeding one month and may be revoked at any time by
said Township.

The fee for such a permit shall be $100.

Any person, firm, corporation or group of individuals found
in violation of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof before
any issuing authority, be subject to a fine of up to $600 and may
be sentenced to a period of incarceration not exceeding 90 days in
the Allegheny County Jail. Each incident in violation of this chapter
shall be considered a separate offense and may be punishable as such.
The Board of Commissioners of said Township may, in its discretion
and upon a special permit or certificate issued by its authority,
make exceptions to the above regulations concerning dances held by
and for the benefit of any charitable institution or organization
or society which is classified as being of a nonprofit, charitable
or eleemosynary character.
