Before any blasting in the City of Marlborough
may begin, all of the following rules and regulations must be followed:
A.
Notification for nonmunicipal detail: Notify Fire
Chief 24 hours in advance for nonmunicipal detail.
B.
Notification of time frame: Notify Fire Chief of the
time frame for blasting.
C.
Pre-blast notification: Notify Fire Chief at least
one hour prior to blasting.
D.
Neighborhood notification: Ensure that the neighborhood
is made aware of blasting time frame.
E.
Mandatory use of warning system: Anyone blasting must
use a warning system.
F.
Neighborhood awareness of warning system: Ensure that
the neighborhood is made aware of the warning system.
G.
Seismograph use: Anyone blasting must use a seismograph
or scale distance or pre-blast survey, or all three when necessary.
H.
Proper coverage: Anyone blasting must use proper coverage
for blasting.
I.
Mandatory inspection; removal of debris: There must
be an inspection of every blasting site and removal of all blasting
debris, i.e., empty boxes, blasting caps, wires, etc.
