GENERAL REFERENCES

Fire Department fees — See Ch. 328, Art. II.
Before any blasting in the City of Marlborough may begin, all of the following rules and regulations must be followed:
A. 
Notification for nonmunicipal detail: Notify Fire Chief 24 hours in advance for nonmunicipal detail.
B. 
Notification of time frame: Notify Fire Chief of the time frame for blasting.
C. 
Pre-blast notification: Notify Fire Chief at least one hour prior to blasting.
D. 
Neighborhood notification: Ensure that the neighborhood is made aware of blasting time frame.
E. 
Mandatory use of warning system: Anyone blasting must use a warning system.
F. 
Neighborhood awareness of warning system: Ensure that the neighborhood is made aware of the warning system.
G. 
Seismograph use: Anyone blasting must use a seismograph or scale distance or pre-blast survey, or all three when necessary.
H. 
Proper coverage: Anyone blasting must use proper coverage for blasting.
I. 
Mandatory inspection; removal of debris: There must be an inspection of every blasting site and removal of all blasting debris, i.e., empty boxes, blasting caps, wires, etc.
Anyone failing to comply with any section of this City Blasting Code[1] will be subject to a penalty of $100. The enforcing person of this chapter shall be the Fire Chief or his designee.
