The Clerk, Collector and Treasurer, Attorney,
Director of Public Works, Engineer, Building Inspector, Zoning Officer,
Auditor and every other Borough officer and official shall have and
they are hereby charged with the custody and control of all books,
maps, papers and documents pertaining to their respective offices.
These belong to the Borough of Leonia, and it shall be the duty of
each of the above to keep the same in a safe place and upon retiring
from office to deliver the same to his successor. They shall not deliver
any such books, maps, papers or documents to any person, whether an
officer or official of the Borough of Leonia or otherwise, without
receiving a receipt therefor, and they shall keep a record showing
to whom such books, maps, papers, and documents are delivered and
the date upon which the same are returned.
