Subject to the restrictions and conditions in § 439-7 of this chapter and the rules and regulations of the Office of Parks and Recreation snowmobiles may be operated only on or along designated and marked trails of the following public parks and public places of the Town:
A.
Draxler Park. All that designated access trail commencing
at the entrance to said park from the Dry Run Road and being a twenty-five-foot
strip of land running thence northwesterly and parallel to the westerly boundary
of said park to the northerly boundary line thereof; running thence northeasterly
and parallel along the northerly boundary line of said park to a point where
such access trail adjoins a wooded area and as the said access trail is appropriately
marked by signs prescribed by the State of New York.[1]
B.
Chapel Park. All that designated access trail commencing
at the northerly end of Personius Road and being a twenty-five-foot strip
of land running northwesterly and parallel with the easterly boundary line
of said park; running thence westerly along the northerly boundary line of
said park to the point where the same intersects the westerly boundary line
thereof, including all that land situated northerly of the last mentioned
course and as the said access trail is appropriately marked by signs prescribed
by the State of New York.
A.
Prohibited operating hours. No person shall operate snowmobiles
on any of the above-designated access trails between the hours of 11:00 p.m.
and 7:00 a.m., except that on Friday and Saturday the prohibited hours shall
be between 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. The Town Board reserves the right to change
the hours of the operation of snowmobiles at such locations by the adoption
of a resolution and the posting of the change of such hours at the entrances
to such access trails in said parks.
B.
Restricted speed. No person shall operate snowmobiles
in any of the above-designated park areas at a speed greater than 15 miles
per hour.
