This article shall apply only in situations not covered by Chapter 252, Subdivision and Land Development, of the Code of the Township of Butler; however, the technical specifications and construction standards in said Chapter 252, Subdivision and Land Development, shall apply to the provisions in this article. This article shall be enacted by authority of §§ 2019 through 2025 of the First Class Township Code,[1] and the penalty prescribed in § 2024 thereof shall apply to violations of this article.[2]

In this article, the word "person" shall mean and include any natural person, partnership, association, firm or corporation. The singular shall include the plural, and the masculine shall include the feminine and the neuter.
No person shall construct, open or dedicate any street, or any sewer or drainage facilities in connection therewith, for public use or travel in the Township of Butler, without first having submitted plans therefor to the Board of Township Commissioners for their approval, and no street, or sewer or drainage facilities in connection therewith, shall be opened, laid or constructed except in strict accordance with plans approved by the Board of Commissioners, and with all requirements of this article.

Such plans shall be prepared in accordance with the criteria in Chapter 252.

Every such plan shall be filed with the Zoning Officer using the same requirements, fees and inspection criteria as in Chapter 252.
Every such plan approved by the Board of Township Commissioners shall be recorded by the person applying for such approval in the office of the Recorder of Deeds of Butler County. The approval of any such plan by the Board of Township Commissioners shall not be deemed to be an adoption by the Township Commissioners of any of the streets or alleys on said plan as public streets or alleys.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to suffer imprisonment not exceeding two years, or pay a fine of not less than $100 and not exceeding $1,000, or both, in the discretion of the court.
