The Legislature of Rockland County hereby adopts
the policy that all employees appointed to positions funded by outside
sources, including, but not limited to, state, federal or private
grants, shall be informed up front that the resolutions accepting
the grants and establishing their positions requires their knowledge
and acceptance of the fact that such position shall be terminated
once those outside funding sources are ended or substantially reduced
and that the impact of such termination is governed by New York State
Civil Service Law.
Such information shall be acknowledged in a
writing, signed by the prospective employee at the time she or he
is hired, and the original or a copy placed into the employee's personnel
file and a copy given to the employee.
The Rockland County Legislature requests that
the County Executive take all steps reasonable and necessary to implement
and enforce this policy.
