Whenever any ordinance of this Town designates any one-way street or alley, the Highway Department shall place and maintain signs giving notice thereof, and no such regulation shall be effective unless such signs are in place. Signs indicating the direction of lawful traffic movement shall be placed at every intersection where movement of traffic in the opposite direction is prohibited.
Upon those streets and parts of streets and in those alleys in which signs are posted giving notice thereof, vehicular traffic shall move only in the indicated direction when signs indicating the direction of traffic are erected and maintained at every intersection where movement in the opposite direction is prohibited.
The Chief of Police is hereby authorized to determine and designate streets, parts of streets or specific lanes thereon upon which vehicular traffic shall proceed in one direction during one period and the opposite direction during another period of the day and shall place and maintain appropriate markings, signs, barriers or other devices to give notice thereof. The Chief of Police may erect signs temporarily designating lanes to be used by traffic moving in a particular direction, regardless of the center line of the roadway.

There shall be no vehicular travel except by emergency vehicles, upon the streets or parts of streets or highways during the hours specified below:
A. 
Theresa Street. The Public Works Department or the Police Department shall post "Do Not Enter" signs on the corner of Hurlbert Street and Grandview Avenue so as to warn all traffic approaching the Winsor Hill School and, on such other portions of Hurlbert Street; Grandview Avenue and Theresa Street as may be necessary to warn motorists then operating vehicles, and in addition, shall post such one-way signs on and about the surrounding streets so as to provide for the orderly flow of vehicular traffic during the prohibited hours.
B. 
Spring Street, 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., school days only. "Do Not Enter" signs shall be posted on the corner of Spring Street and Greenville Avenue stating that traffic shall not enter Spring Street from George Waterman Avenue and at the intersection of Victoria Mount and John Street.
C. 
Memorial Drive. A "Do Not Enter" sign shall be posted on both sides of Memorial Drive at Atwood Avenue.
D. 
Borden Avenue. A "No Through Traffic" sign shall be posted at the entrance to Borden Avenue, from Hartford Avenue.

A. 
There may be closure of certain streets and thoroughfares to traffic by the discontinuation of traffic by means of causing said street or thoroughfare to be a dead-end and by the placement of proper warning signs and appropriate barriers; and
B. 
The closure of certain streets and thoroughfares by the powers granted by this section shall be legislated on an individual basis each by resolution, which resolution shall be the subject of public hearing advertised at the direction of and conducted by the Town Council.
