A. 
Definitions. For the purpose of this section, the following terms, phrases, words, and their derivations shall have the meaning given herein. The word "shall" is always mandatory and not merely directory.
BICYCLE
Vehicle with two wheels tandem, steering handle, saddle seat, and pedals by which propelled.
PROTECTIVE HELMET
Any of various protective head coverings, usually made of a hard material to resist impact, designed particularly to protect the head of those utilizing bicycles, roller skates, roller blades, scooters, self-propelled scooters and skateboards.
ROLLER BLADES/ROLLER SKATES
A shoe with a set of wheels attached for skating or a metal frame with wheels attached that can be fitted to the sole of a shoe.
SCOOTER
A foot-operated vehicle consisting of a narrow footboard mounted between two wheels tandem with an upright steering handle attached to the front wheel.
SELF-PROPELLED SCOOTER
A vehicle consisting of a narrow footboard mounted between two wheels tandem with an upright steering handle attached to the front wheel and an electric or gas-operated engine attached to the rear wheels for propulsion.
SKATEBOARD
A board mounted on small wheels that is used for coasting and often for performing athletic stunts.
USER
Any person using the above devices listed, participating in or performing athletic stunts.
B. 
Every person using the skateboard park located on Brewbaker Field shall wear a protective helmet. The fine for failing to wear a protective helmet while using the Brewbaker Field Skateboard Park shall be set forth in the schedule of fines as established from year to year by the Lexington City Council.

A. 
All recreation areas and parks owned or operated by the City and completely enclosed by a fence and gates shall be closed during those hours as posted on signs displayed on all gates in accordance with regulations promulgated from time to time by the City Council.
B. 
All areas owned or operated by the City designated for use as parks, playgrounds and recreation and not enclosed by a fence shall be closed as follows: May 1 to October 31 the parks shall be closed 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; November 1 to April 30 the parks shall be closed 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Hours for Hopkins Green and athletic playing fields may be adjusted at the discretion of the City Manager.
C. 
Any person, or the owner of any motor vehicle, found on any of the areas designated in this section while such areas are closed shall be considered a trespasser and subject to a fine of not less than $10 nor more than $100 or a jail sentence not exceeding 30 days, or both such fine and imprisonment.
D. 
The provisions of this section shall not be applicable to scheduled and supervised activities conducted by a department, agency or instrumentality of the City or conducted by any person, group or organization with permission of the City Council.
