The Village Board is committed as a matter of public policy that the protection, preservation, perpetuation and use of places, areas, buildings, structures, and other objects having special, historical, community, or aesthetic interest or value is a worthy cause and helps promote civic pride and the general welfare of the Village and its residents. When deemed appropriate by the Village Board, the Village Board should consult with the Sauk Prairie Area Historical Society or Friends of Sauk City History on matters concerning historical significance, including any matter to consider the effects on historic properties under Wis. Stats. § 66.1111(4), and should take any recommendation it receives under advisement.
