A. 
Restrictions.
(1) 
The arrangement, character, extent, width, grade and location of all streets shall conform to the Official Map and all area development plans adopted by the village. Furthermore, streets shall be related to existing and planned streets, topographic conditions, existing natural features, public convenience and safety and proposed uses of the land to be served by such streets.
(2) 
Streets shall be classified arterial, collector, and minor in accordance with the village's Official Map.
B. 
Street classification.
(1) 
Arterial. Arterial streets shall be properly integrated with the existing and proposed system of state highways, county roads, major streets and thoroughfares.
(2) 
Collector. Collector streets shall be properly related to special traffic generating facilities, such as schools, churches, shopping centers and other concentrated population densities.
(3) 
Minor. Minor streets feed collector streets and arterial streets. Minor street layout shall discourage use by through traffic, provide convenient, safe access to property not served by arterial and collector streets and consist of a minimal amount of street.
Design of state highways shall conform with the Department of Transportation's standards and specifications.
Design of county roads shall conform with the County Highway Commission's standards and specifications.
A. 
All streets which are to be constructed within the village and which are to be dedicated to the village for public use shall meet the village's standard specifications.
B.

NOTES:
1 Street width shall be measured from back of curb to back of curb. Curb and gutter shall be two feet zero inches wide and be constructed of unreinforced concrete.
2 Street width shall be measured from edge of pavement to edge of pavement. Minimum four-foot-wide gravel shoulder shall be provided on each side of street.
3 Soil borings may indicate a thicker base course and/or geotextile fabric is needed for arterial and collector streets.

C. 
Tangents. A tangent at least 100 feet long shall be provided between reverse curves on arterial and collector streets.
D. 
Site distance. Streets shall be designed to provide adequate stopping sight distance, intersection sight distance, horizontal sight distance and passing sight distance in accordance with Chapter 11, WDOT Facilities Development Manual.
E. 
Street intersections.
(1) 
Streets shall intersect at right angles where feasible. However, no street shall intersect any other street at an angle less than 60°.
(2) 
More than two streets intersecting at one point shall be discouraged.
(3) 
Street intersections with center-line offsets of less than 170 feet are prohibited. Street intersections with center-line offsets greater than 170 feet are subject to final approval by the Village Engineer.
(4) 
At street intersections, right-of-way lines may be required to be rounded with a radius of 12 feet or a greater radius where the Board considers it necessary. Cutoffs or chords may be permitted in place of rounded corners.
F. 
Median strips. Median or access strips controlling vehicular access to streets shall be prohibited except where approved by the Board.
G. 
Culs-de-sac. Streets designed to have one end permanently closed shall not exceed 750 feet in length and shall provide a turnaround with a minimum right-of-way radius of 60 feet.
H. 
Half streets.
(1) 
Where a half street has been previously dedicated adjacent to the subdivision, the remaining half of the street shall be dedicated by the subdivider.
(2) 
If the village has officially mapped a street where a portion of the right-of-way is on property not owned by the subdivider, the subdivider shall make a good faith effort to obtain right-of-way dedication from the adjacent property owner. In the event that the subdivider is unable to obtain proper dedication, the subdivider shall adjust the right-of-way onto the property owned by the subdivider (with the village's approval of the route) or turn the right-of-way acquisition over to the village for condemnation with legal, engineering and administration expenses born by the subdivider.
I. 
Structures 54 inches diameter or greater classifies as bridge. Village contribution will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
J. 
Railroad rights-of-way. Where a subdivision borders on or contains a railroad right-of-way, the Board may require a street approximately parallel to and on each side of such right-of-way at a distance suitable for the appropriate use of the intervening land. Such distances shall be determined with regard for the requirements of approach grades and future grade separations.
K. 
Storm drainage. Street drainage shall be in accordance with good engineering practice, subject to final approval by the Village Engineer.
A. 
Restrictions. When a subdivision abuts or contains an existing or proposed arterial street, the Board may require service drives or reverse frontage lots with screen planting contained in a nonaccess reservation along the rear of the property line.
B. 
Design. Service drive rights-of-way shall be 50 feet in addition to the adjoining arterial street right-of-way.
A. 
Restrictions.
(1) 
Commercial/industrial. Service ways shall be provided in all commercial and industrial districts; however, the Board may waive this requirement if definite and assured provision is made for service access, such as off-street loading and parking consistent with and adequate for the uses proposed.
(2) 
Residential. Service ways shall not be approved in residential areas unless necessary due to topography or other exceptional circumstances.
B. 
Design. Service way rights-of-way shall be a minimum of 30 feet wide.
A. 
Any street which is the reasonable continuation of an existing street shall bear the same name. If the topography or other features of a permanent nature are such as to render the continuation of the actual roadway impossible and where such nomenclature could produce confusion, the street shall not carry the same name as the street to which it may be geometrically aligned.
B. 
The Village Board may disapprove any street name and furnish a new street name.
C.
