A Length of Service Awards Program (LOSAP) is
herewith created in accordance with Chapter 388 of the Laws of 1997 to reward members of the Volunteer Hillsdale Fire Department
and Volunteer Ambulance Service for their loyal, diligent and devoted
services to the residents of the Borough of Hillsdale.
The LOSAP shall provide for annual contributions
to each eligible member that meets the criteria commencing January
1, 2000, as follows:
A. Hillsdale Fire Department and Hillsdale Volunteer
Ambulance Service. A year of service shall be credited under a Service
Award Program for each calendar year of which an active emergency
service volunteer accumulates at least 75 points.
(1) Year one.
(a)
75 points: 50% of award or $300.
(b)
100 points: 100% of award or $600.
(2) Year two.
(a)
75 points: 50% of award or $425.
(b)
100 points: 100% of award or $850.
(3) Year three.
(a)
75 points: 50% of award or $575.
(b)
100 points: 100% of award or $1,150.
The LOSAP shall not provide for any prior years
of service.
The estimated cost of the program has been calculated
as follows:
A. For regular annual services: year one: $45,000; year
two: $63,750; year three: $86,250.
B. For contributions for prior years service: $0 per
year for an estimated 0 years.
Each active volunteer member shall be credited
with points for volunteer services provided to the Volunteer Hillsdale
Fire Department or Volunteer Ambulance Service in accordance with
the attached Schedules A and B.
This chapter shall not take effect unless it
is approved by voters as a public question at the next general election.
