In order to protect the health, welfare and safety of the residents of the Borough, it is deemed advisable to prohibit the parking or placing of trailers or camp cars within the Borough.

Editor's Note: In the zoning case of Vickers v. Township Committee of Gloucester Township, 37 N.J. 232 (1962), the power of a municipality to prohibit trailer camps or trailer parks was upheld.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
TRAILERS AND CAMP CARS
Any vehicles used or intended for use as a conveyance upon tracks, public streets or highways; and shall include self-propelled and non-self-propelled vehicles so designed, constructed and reconstructed or added to by means of accessories in such a manner as to permit the occupancy thereof as a temporary dwelling or sleeping place for one (1) or more persons, including but not limited to automobile recreation design (Winnebago or mobile home of similar type), and having no foundation other than wheels, jacks or other mechanism so arranged as to be integral with or portable by said trailer or camp car.

Except as provided in this chapter, it shall be unlawful for any person to park any trailer or camp car for dwelling or sleeping purposes on any street or on any premises in the Borough, except for the purpose of repairs or storage. Any such trailer or camp car undergoing repairs or being stored shall not, during such period of repairs or storage, be used by any person as a dwelling or sleeping place.

Temporary occupancy not to exceed seven (7) days of a trailer or camp car shall be permitted for visitation purposes, provided that the trailer or camp car is parked off the street and in the driveway of the improved lot of the home visited and that prior notification is provided to the Hillsdale Police Department.

Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the provisions of Chapter 226, Penalties.
